Oakleaf Leisure Centre

Dufell Roofing Co. Ltd. were selected by Harriston and Johnson LLP to carry out roof renewal and asbestos removal works on Oakleaf Sports Complex for the Client, Great Aycliffe Town Council.

The scope of works included the removal of the existing tiles, felt insulation and battens to the pitched roof and installation of new plywood deck over the existing tongue and groove boards to provide a clean, flat surface to install the new high performance reinforced bitumen membrane roofing system.

The roof tiles to the cheeks of the light wells had asbestos content which were removed by our in house CAT B asbestos removal team. Work to the building was carried out whilst the sports complex was in occupation which required regular communication with the centre’s management to ensure health and safety standards could be met and that the public and staff were not affected by the construction work.
