Bishopsgarth School

Over the past 8 years the Council have been renewing the roofs at the school in phases. This has involved stripping off the existing roof coverings and installing new high performance built up felt coverings including insulation. There has also been an extensive rooflight replacement programme.
University of Northumbria - Manors Redevelopment

The project involved the installation of insulation and high performance felt to a new build campus building. The construction of concrete plinths on top of the roof to accommodate numerous plant units was a major consideration since the roof needed to be kept free from damage during the plinth construction. The vapour control layer, insulation and underlayer were installed first, then areas of felt cap sheet were loose laid where the plinths were to be constructed. Once all the plinths and plant had been installed, the rest of the capsheet was installed with the laps being welded to the edges of the loose laid sheets beneath the plinths creating a perfect looking, guaranteed watertight roof.
